'Francis Eugene Phillips' is a Gene's Nursery original. Named for our founder, this camellia is one of a kind. The flowers are orchid shaped and have a pink center that blends to white on scalloped petals. The most unusual characteristic of this camellia is the holly-like foliage. This attractive and very unusual camellia has gained much popularity throughout the US as well as in China and Japan and has adorned the cover of The American Camellia Society Journal. 'Francis Eugene Phillips' is an excellent plant for any shady spot as well as container planting. It blooms mid winter, January-February in zones 8.
