Camellias have been traditionally grown in what is called the "Camellia Belt" or southern zones 8 & 9. But with the development of new cold hardy hybrids and discovering varieties that tend to withstand more cold than normal varieties, the camellia belt is being extended and are not just "a southern thing" any longer!
